Hook: Story of Two Traders
Meet Mark and Paul. Both started in 2020 with 100,000 PLN (~$25k).
Mark - 100% Trader: Put entire 100k into CFD account. Played aggressively, made 120% in 2021 on growth stocks. In 2022 lost 60% in bear market, had to withdraw 20k for living because lost job. Capital: 32,000 PLN. Psychology: ruined. Had to quit trading.
Paul - Architect 3 Buckets: Split 100k: 20k emergency (savings 7%), 20k IKE (VWCE), 60k trading. In 2021 his trading made 70% (42k profit). In 2022 lost 40% trading (24k loss), but VWCE lost only 15%, and emergency gave 1,400 PLN interest. He had 8 months living without stress. Total capital: 104,400 PLN. Psychology: stable. Traded further and recovered in 2023.
Difference? Mark played for money. Paul played a system.
Welcome to course that teaches you to be Paul.

1. Why Does Trader Need Long-Term Portfolio?
Trading culture myth: “Portfolio is for retirees and losers. Trader lives from chart”.
Most expensive myth of your career.
Three reasons portfolio saves trading:
A) Pressure reduction: If you know you have 12 months paid from emergency and 15 years retirement building in background in IKE, you don’t need to take every setup. You wait for A+. Win rate goes up.
B) Inverse Kelly: You cannot optimally size position if your trading account is your entire life. Every loss hurts like amputation. 3-bucket system allows to mathematically optimize f.
C) Longevity: Average career of retail trader without portfolio is 14 months (ESMA data). With portfolio and emergency >2 years. Trading is game where time in market > timing market.
2. Who Is This Course For?

- IKE/IKZE calculator - shown in lesson 06

6. Your First Task (Do Before Lesson 01)
Open sheet and answer honestly:
- What is your Total_Capital? Sum: personal + savings + brokerage + IKE/IKZE + cash + crypto - debts. In PLN and USD.
- How many months will you survive without income from current emergency? Emergency / Monthly expenses = ?
- What is current split? % emergency / % trading / % retirement?
If you don’t know answers, that’s why you need this course.
Formula that will repeat throughout course:
Trading_Capital = Total_Capital * (1 - Emergency\% - Retirement\%)
Example: You have 200k PLN (~$50k) total. You want 25% emergency (50k) and 25% retirement (50k). Left:
Trading_Capital = 200000 * (1 - 0.25 - 0.25) = 200000 * 0.5 = 100000 PLN`
That’s your real risk capital. Not 200k. 100k. And it’s OK.
Ready? Let’s go to lesson 01 where we break down 3-bucket system and set your ideal percentages.
Extra Section: Mentoring and Roadmap
After this course suggested path: Course 28 -> Course 29 (Taxes) -> Course 30 (Psychology). Asset allocation is middle block.
Three rules of capital architect repeat daily:
- Safety first, growth second.
- Don’t optimize profit, optimize survival.
- Measure everything TWR, rebalance mechanical not emotional.
Extended case: Imagine you are 34 with 26y to retirement. If today have 0 in IKE and start max limit, at 7% you’ll have 3M PLN ($750k). If start in 5 years, you’ll have 1.9M PLN ($475k). Difference 1.1M PLN cost of 5y delay. Not motivation, it’s math.
Also note: Polish IKE/IKZE wrappers are similar to US Roth IRA / 401k and UK ISA. Principles same: use tax wrapper first, asset location second, costs third. This course teaches universal principles with Polish implementation.
