This is a forex for beginners track built around the reality of a trader from the EU and Poland: currency pairs, pips, lots, sessions and leverage — often through CFDs at a supervised broker. The goal is to understand how the currency market works without the myth of an easy 24/5 market and without copying leverage from an advertisement.

Forex tempts with the accessibility and liquidity of the majors, but it punishes the absence of position sizing faster than many spot markets. So you first learn to calculate exposure and read sessions, and only then combine technical analysis with macro context. Check the leverage limits and overnight costs at your broker — do not trust a marketing 1:500.

The material is educational and does not constitute an investment recommendation. We do not point to the best pair and we do not promise results. We teach the language of the product, of costs and of risk discipline on a market that is open almost around the clock — but does not have to be traded around the clock.

Who this is for

For people who already have the foundations, the chart basics and the risk rules, and who want to understand what makes the currency market specific. Not for someone looking for today’s EURUSD signals. If you do not yet know position size in R, go back to the risk track before trading lots with leverage.

It will also help currency swing traders who want to choose liquidity windows deliberately instead of trading because the chart happens to be open. One pair and one session to start will give you more than ten tickers without a process. The track also helps people who confuse forex with a single product — while in practice retail traders often trade CFDs on currency pairs.

What you will learn

  • What forex is and what access looks like from a retail client’s perspective
  • Pairs, pips and lots — how to calculate exposure instead of eyeballing it
  • Sessions and liquidity (Asia, Europe, US) and when the spread breaks down
  • How to combine technical analysis and macro context on currency pairs
  • Leverage in practice: limits, overnight, margin — without marketing numbers
  • How to compare round-turn costs before you judge a setup
  • How to pick one pair to learn the process instead of jumping across the whole terminal
  • How not to confuse 24/5 availability with an obligation to trade constantly

Prerequisites

Before forex, complete Risk and psychology. Earlier: Market foundations and Technical analysis. On forex, a sizing mistake hurts faster than on many spot markets without leverage. The calendar from Fundamental analysis helps a great deal around high-impact news.

Practise on one major pair for two weeks. Record the spread at the hour of entry and the result in R. Without that, analysing the pair is decoration. Do not increase your lot size until the journal shows risk discipline.

FAQ

Is forex always a CFD?

For many retail clients in Poland, access is through a CFD at a broker. Check the product, the supervision and the costs — do not assume real spot FX from an advertisement. A name in an app does not replace reading the instrument terms.

What leverage is safe?

No leverage is safe in itself. Safety is the size relative to your stop and the regulatory limits. A marketing 1:500 is not a trading plan and is not a recommendation of exposure.

Which pair should I start learning with?

Start with a liquid major pair, for example EURUSD, one session and one setup. Variety of pairs without a process increases chaos, not edge. You do not have to trade at night — choose liquidity windows that fit your life.
